A Daylong Meditation Retreat Online!

Join us for this one day intensive meditation practice retreat, from the comfort of your own home!

We'll be practicing in the Cha'n and Pure Land Buddhist style, alternating between simple quiet sitting, basic chanting, and walking meditation.

Our goal will be to ride the energy of winter as it takes us inward to a place of silence and restoration!

Retreat Format

To facilitate this online retreat, we'll use a format drawn from Tibetan Buddhist retreat practice "the practice of the four times."

We will gather together via Zoom for four different meditation periods through the day, and then spend the other time away from the computer.

This format can allow students to rest, exercise, take care of important business (karma yoga), or even complete another practice session for a deeper retreat.

We will utilize postural training, breath meditation, inner chanting, and moving meditation.  Along with some basic instruction, one group activity, and short dharma-talks!

About the facilitator

Rev. Fa Jun Shakya is an ordained priest in the Lohan Order.  This order is a branch of the Xu Yun Cha'n Buddhist tradition, developed by Dashi Steven Baugh.  Dashi combined the Buddhist mind-trainings of emptiness and compassion with the embodiment practices of martial arts and Daoist alchemy to form a rich school of cultivation.  Dashi also drew heavily on his understanding as a medicine person in the Lakota tradition to emphasize the importance of indigenous ways of being in harmony with the earth and the spiritual realm.

Rev. Fa Jun carries on this lineage as a minister, qigong master, martial arts instructor, and holistic health advocate.

This daylong sitting is offered free/by-donation

All donations will go to Second Harvest Food Bank to help those who need extra assistance during this holiday season.

Attendance is limited to 100 people, so please register early!
